If you are extending your home or are converting your loft into an apartment, the chances are that you have what is known as a Negative Head Situation. A Negative Head situation exists where the pumped outlet (e.g. shower-head) is in a position that is level with or higher than the base of the cold water storage tank.

Since conventional Techflow pumps require some gravity flow to activate the pump switching mechanism, they cannot start under these circumstances and will require some form of external switching to initiate start-up. Techflow offers various solutions for achieving this.

Techflow's manual Negative Head Solutions work by activating the pump when sufficient gravity flow is not available to start a flow switch operated pump. Techflow NHE Negative Head Solutions are ideally suited for loft conversions and small apartments. Various switching systems are available for Techflow twin ended and single ended pumps.
